2016 Toyota Hilux Unveiled

Tags:

Toyota has given the 2016 Toyota Hilux  a fresh look, more power and added tech features while still maintaining the ruggedness and toughness that the car is known and loved for. “Traditionally the Hilux was very much a workhorse-based, tool-of-trade vehicle,” Tony Cramb, Toyota’s head of sales in Australia, told reporters during an unveiling event that took place simultaneously in Sydney and Bangkok on Thursday.

Toyota is confident that it’s latest Hilux model will take on the likes of the new Ford Ranger update, new Nissan Navara and the just-released new Mitsubishi Triton. The HiLux’s engine range will include a new flagship 130kW/450Nm 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine matched to a six-speed automatic (torque drops to 420Nm with a six-speed manual fitted).

Technology and connectivity includes Bluetooth phone connectivity with audio streaming, CD player, auxiliary input, USB inputs, satellite navigation (on some variants), reversing camera (standard across the range) and either manual or automatic climate control (model dependent).
